Samantha Greenwood, R. Psych (AB)
Registered Psychologist & Doctoral Practicum Student
Samantha Greenwood is a Registered Psychologist and a Doctoral Practicum Student at UPsilon Clinic, earning her PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of Alberta.
Samantha brings over ten years of experience in counselling and acute mental health care. Throughout her career, she has supported individuals facing challenges such as substance use, domestic violence, and relationship difficulties. She has extensive experience working with first responders and other high-pressure professionals.
Samantha has completed multiple doctoral clinical practicums, including training at the University of Alberta’s Counselling and Clinical Services Centre. She has published and presented research on graduate student mental health, and her current doctoral research examines the mental health of Canadian veterinarians.
In her clinical practice, Samantha provides evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for a range of concerns including:
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
- Perinatal anxiety
- Social Anxiety and phobias
- PTSD and trauma recovery
Additionally, she conducts diagnostic mental health assessments.
Guided by her value for connection and community, Samantha integrates psychodynamic approaches, using the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for growth and to help clients strengthen their personal relationships.
Samantha’s Clinical work at UPsilon Clinic is supervised by Dr. Jaleh Shahin.
